It was an absolute pleasure to photograph Verdah’s Mayoon. For anyone that doesn’t know (like me) a Mayoon is a traditional Pakistani bridal shower; where guests come to wish the bride happiness, luck and joy in her marriage. Traditionally it’s attended by female family and friends only but Verdah wanted to celebrate with all her family and friends and the sense of community and family was amazing on the night; Verdah even invited me to take part and her family couldn’t have been more welcoming and inclusive. I was even fed the most amazing curry; and was constantly checked on to make sure it wasn’t too spicy …it must have been the steam coming from my ears 🙂
